Feldenkrais â„¢ with professional musicians
The main objective of our specific lessons for musicians is to help you find greater instrumental or vocal comfort, and through this to allow the spontaneous emergence of new possibilities of musical expression.
The type of ease sought in sound production will not only help you prevent fatigue and injury but it will also give you greater artistic freedom: indeed, this approach increases your ability to systematically explore different possibilities of movement, of action, and therefore it helps you experience (musical) gestures, which are often unusual, probably unknown, forgotten, or unexplored.
Move better, sound better
These lessons and workshops are intended for professional musicians, students in superior conservatories, as well as advanced academy students who are preparing for entrance exams in a superior conservatory or wishing to perfect their playing technique.
The desire to discover and learn is the most essential ingredient.
Why lessons for musicians in addition to the Feldenkrais lessons?
The lessons for musicians are designed to help you fill the gap between your Feldenkrais practice and your musical practice.

One of the most important things you will learn is how to pay attention not only to the music and technique but also to yourself while playing. This requires very often the help of an experienced guide.

As a Feldenkrais practitioner, I put my sensitivity, awareness, and experience at your service, like a mirror that allows you to feel more of yourself during your musical practice. Little by little, you will become more skillful in feeling in a more refined way what can be adjusted in order to move with more ease and freedom. With time and practice, you will become your own mirror.

Whether in a workshop or in an individual session, you will receive concrete research tools (or exercises) you can bring home to help you make the links between the practice of the Feldenkrais Method and musical practice, on your own.
Individual sessions by appointment
These individual sessions are a complementary accompaniment in order to complete your practice of the Feldenkrais Method.

A one-off one-to-one lesson lasts 90 minutes and is a combination of one-to-one Feldenkrais lessons (often on the table) and work with your instrument.
If you practice on a regular basis (on your own with recordings, or participating in group lessons) you can follow shorter sessions to work only on the instrument, these last approximately 45 minutes.
FELDENKRAIS â„¢ WORKSHOPS
FOR PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS
Move better, sound better
Workshops structure
The discovery workshops are divided into three parts:
-
Group Lesson (Awareness Through Movement - ATM):
The first part of the workshop consists of a group lesson, where participants explore small, gentle movements. The aim is to increase sensitivity to how tiny changes can have a profound impact on the entire body (the Soma—the living body as experienced from within). These movements encourage greater awareness of how we move and use our bodies, making it possible to unlock more fluid, efficient, and relaxed movement patterns. -
Posture Tips & Tricks (for sitting musicians):
The second part focuses on simple, quick techniques to improve sitting posture. In this section, students will practice with their instrument (but without playing) to experience and integrate better postural alignment. This part is done as a group, but participants will gain immediate insights that can be applied directly to their playing. -
Individual Lesson with the Instrument:
The third part is a personalized lesson, where students will play a passage they want to improve. The goal is to explore new possibilities for movement, guided by the Feldenkrais practitioner, in order to find solutions to eventual difficulties. Through gentle exploration, students will discover how subtle changes in body organization can dramatically impact the sound they produce.
Q&A Session:
At the end of the workshop, there will be time for questions and answers, allowing students to discuss their experiences and deepen their understanding of the material.

One or two workshops will allow you to discover the method and to feel if this approach is right for you.

If you want to do in-depth work, we recommend combining workshops with individual sessions and regular practice of the Feldenkrais Method.
